Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actor, is well-known for her performance in films and television since the late 1980s. Bassett originates born in New York New York. She was raised at Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett moved with her twin sister in St. Petersburg Florida at age five in order so that they could be near their mom and father, who had separated from their father. Bassett when she was in high school, saw John Steinbeck's stage play Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she was inspired to be an actor. Yale University New Haven Connecticut was where she earned her bachelor's degree in African American and master's degrees (1983). At Yale she came across Courtney B.
